2007 Free State Independent Film Festival
The 2007 Free State Independent Film Festival was held in Lindley from Thursday 4 October to Sunday 7 October 2007.
20 Participants from Lindley, Arlington, Reitz and Petrus Steyn attended the film workshops.

Film Festival Aims:
- Encourage aspirant filmmakers in small towns and rural areas to tell their own stories.
- Bring independent films from South Africa and abroad to viewers in small towns.
- Highlight the potential of the Free State and specifically Lindley and the environs, as locations for filmmaking.
Film Festival Activities:
- Filmmaking workshops.
- Film outreach to schools and youth.
- Public viewings.
Film Festival Viewings and Film Outreach:
- Viewings of films from SA Film history, facilitated by the National Film, Video and Sound Archive.
- 350 young people attend outreach in Ntha on Friday 5 October 2007. Films directed by South African young directors shown.
- Featured Director for Film Festival: Ntshavheni Wa Luruli.
Film Festival Film Workshop Awards:
- Best Film: Lindley group for Ngwana Wa Lla.
- Best Director: Vusi Tshabalala for Imbali.
